Editorial Standards

Point Strategist was founded in 2015. Articles are published under a single editorial byline — The Point Strategist Editorial Team. Behind that byline is a small group of writers and researchers. Each member of the team has been personally earning, tracking, and redeeming points and miles for more than twenty years — across every major North American credit card issuer, airline alliance, and hotel chain. Among us, we've flown on miles from New York to Tokyo in business class, burned Hyatt points at overwater bungalows, transferred Ultimate Rewards and Membership Rewards into nearly every partner on the chart, and watched three generations of award charts devalue in real time.

We publish under one team byline rather than individual bylines because our articles reflect the collective judgment of the team.

How we research an article

Guides draw on the loyalty programs' own published documentation — award charts, transfer ratios, elite benefits, co-brand card terms — combined with our own redemption experience and longstanding community resources. Loyalty programs change constantly, and articles are updated when program rules change materially.

What we will not do

• Recommend a specific hotel, flight, or award booking we can't stand behind — our guides focus on valuation frameworks and redemption strategy, not "book this exact property on this exact date."
• Publish content we wouldn't send to a friend asking for advice.
• Let advertising or partnership relationships influence editorial coverage.

Corrections and accuracy

Loyalty programs change constantly — award charts devalue, transfer partners come and go, co-brand cards get reissued. If you find an error in one of our guides, email hello@pointstrategist.com and we will review and correct the article. Corrections made after original publication are reflected in the article's Reviewed date.
